The Strawberry Thief is perfectly located to explore Dorset and Somerset. The village of Corton Denham is a ten-minute walk across two fields, and the fascinating Sherborne Castle is just down the road. There are numerous villages and towns to explore within a short drive, Stourhead can be reached within 20-minutes and Longleat Safari Park in under 40-minutes. Or you can just hole up and relax at the cottage for the whole of your stay.

Explore Sherborne and its independent shops, cafés, markets and antique shops. Don’t miss the Castle and Abbey!
Frome is packed full of independent shops and art galleries. There is so much to see but there are a few steep hills to watch out for.
Bruton is another lovely place to visit - it has quite an arty vibe and there are lots of independent shops and places to eat.

A quick stroll will get you to the local pub. The Queens Arms offers a warm welcome and there is always a good selection of pork pies on the bar!
For the more adventurous, we’re just yards from the Monarch's Way which was named as the Sunday Times best winter walk.
eating out
The Queens Arms is our local pub which serves excellent food and cream teas. Be sure to pop by!
One of our regular haunts is The Green Restaurant in Sherborne. It is popular with locals and offers a good à la carte menu.
No trip to Bruton is complete without a pit stop at Roth Bar & Grill. The food is splendid, and the cocktails aren’t bad either.
